Our team of emergency physicians, nurses and technicians skillfully treat patients with emergencies ranging from a child's late night fever to life-threatening accidents and heart attacks.

The Emergency Department is open 24-hours a day, everyday.

Ambulance

Northeast Montana Health Service offers Emergency Medical Services for both the Wolf Point and Poplar Campus. The Wolf Point Ambulance averages over 700 runs per year. Their service area covers Frazer east bound to Tule Creek, and as far as north as Lustre southbound across the Missouri River. There crew consists of 1 EMT-Basic and 5 First Responder Ambulance personnel. They also have a Registered Nurse that also runs for their service regularly. They currently have 9 National Registry certified crewmembers awaiting their state license and endorsements, which will bring their total crewmembers to 16.

The Poplar Ambulance service also averages over 700 runs per year. Their service area covers from Tule Creek eastbound to Brockton, and Ft. Kipp if requested, and the North Poplar area south to the Missouri River. Their crew consists of 8 First Responder Ambulance, one of which is also a National Registry EMT-Basic. They also utilize 2 drivers that are National Registry certified.

The EMT-Basic personnel have also received endorsements consisting of IV/IO initiation, IV/IO maintenance, medications and monitoring. This will be a great service to our communities. With these added endorsements our ambulance can rotate from basic Life Support service and Advanced Life Support service depending on the type of run.

Northeast Montana Health Services will be offering selected First Responders to advance to the EMT-Basic level. This course is scheduled to start in March 2006. We have also been working with local law enforcement to train their officers to be First Responders.

All of the state licensed First Responders have received further training, which are called endorsements. With these endorsements that can utilize the pulse oximetry and glucometer equipment.
